Truth Be Told: Zine Making Workshop

As part of the Behind the Screen series, Somerset House will be holding a zine making workshop with One of My Kind (OOMK). Join them for a session on the inner workings of making a zine, then have a go at making your own screen printed cover. For ages 18+.
OOMK is a feminist art collective that has been featured in magazines such as Dazed, Vice, Huck and MagCulture. Their aim is to offer a voice for women of colour through exploring their creativity and spirituality.

Luckily, the City Academy is offering the chance for your fantasies to come true in a Beyoncé inspired Diva Workshop. Release your inner diva and strut your stuff like Queen Bey to one of her biggest hits in this two hour dance class lead by professional dance instructors.

Digital Textile Design

Channel your inner fashionista while getting tech savvy in this in-depth digital textile design class lead by the Fashion Textile Museum. Through the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and specialist tools, you will create various beautiful illustrations which you can transform into a number of repeats designs. While this workshop is beginner-friendly, it is recommended that you have good computer skills and knowledge of using creative software before signing up.

Test out your green fingers at the London Terrariums workshop. Build a demijohn or tinyjohn terrarium while discovering its history dating back to Victorian London. While making your terrariums using the shop’s handmade tools, you can discover how it maintains its own ecosystem and water cycle. Don’t worry about bringing your own equipment, London Terrariums provides the contents, glass vessels and tools that you need for the session. Once the class is over, you can grab one of their care guides and tote bags to take away with you, along with your new terrarium. This workshop is open to everyone regardless of artistic ability. The Alternative London team will teach you all you need to know, from spray can techniques to the basics of drawing so don’t be shy.
