These are a few interview style questions that we put to the team at Good Life about their battle with work life balance as they organise and host the most exciting nightlife events happening right now.
Start-up projects and entrepreneurship are a big talking point today with the movement away from faceless corporate jobs towards the dream of ‘making your stamp on your industry’. But what is it really like for young adults trying to make their way in an ever-condensing market of brands and influencers? Read Will and Louis’ answers to find out.
What is your role now and what are the main responsibilities for you?
We create nights out that offer an array of entertainment, music and multimedia experiences. Our lineups boast an eclectic mix of artists from all genres including some of our own personal favourites to create the perfect night. Our main responsibilities are working on every aspect of the event to make sure it’s exactly how we planned it. At Good Life we’re all about the small details and making sure each time we put on an event it’s a unique experience.
Can you think of any key challenges you had to overcome and how did you battle them to get to where you are?
Our main challenge is making sure every event is unique and suits the client. In our industry, every day you learn something new but it is all about preparing early and making sure you trust your vision. The two of us share very similar ideas so it helps with decision making but we would say that its important to trust what you believe will create the best experience for the guest and then getting things in place early for that.
How do you find balancing lifestyle with your job?
As we’ve started growing and covering larger areas across the UK we have created a dedicated production team and have several companies coming in to make sure the venues look insane. The two of us have been overseeing all aspects but we have a huge promotional and online team underneath us that take some of the load off. So, as we’ve grown, we’ve been able to get involved with all parts of the process but delegate enough so that we can actually enjoy events like our own.
If you could give one piece of advice to a young spark looking to start a project, what would that be?
As we said before, it’s all about the small details and creating the best experience for your guest or user. Having a real understanding of your audience no matter the kind of business is crucial.
And finally, what have you guys got lined up for the future?
We’re keeping our lips sealed but we have some big plans! We are aiming to create unique parties for 2017 adding in even more interactive elements. That’s all we’ll say for now!
Thank you so much for talking to us and telling us about your experiences. We can’t wait to hear all about what you get up to in the future and working with you again!
